What would I be doing if I wasn't a mother

I have NO idea. For the past 33 months I have been a Mama. I quit my job to stay home and take care of my sweet boy.

I am the mother of Micah. The Busiest Boy in town. He keeps me going all of the time, that's for sure. I think that if you ever have a problem falling asleep at night, just borrow Micah for the day, you'll sleep great after a day with him :) He is JUST like the Energizer Bunny, he keeps going and going. I Love Micah with all of my heart and don't know what I'd do without him. Yesterday he told me Happy Mothers Day numerous times throughout the day. Stacy cooked a wonderful breakfast for me while I, along with the sisters made lunch for our dear Mama. I had a pretty restful day and even got to enjoy a nap! I never ever get to take naps, but I have been SO tired lately. I just don't know what's wrong, other than the fact that I chase a little man all day :) For Mothers' Day all I asked for was Pine bark for our yard, I have yet to get that, but I did get a little wheelbarrow that Micah made me at The Home Depot workshop and a flower. I also got a Much needed memory card for my camera. Here's some pics from the day :)

Cinco De Mayo

Why is Cinco de mayo celebrated?
This day marks the victory of a small, poorly armed force of around 4,500 soldiers over the French invasion of a well-armed, professional army led by Napoleon III that had about 8,000 soldiers. This battle is popularly known as the legendary Battle of Puebla. The battle lasted for 4 hours and ended in the victory of the small Mexican army under Gen. Ignacio Zaragoza. So Cinco de mayo is hugely celebrated with pomp , gaiety and fiestas in the traditional Mexican style.

We are not Mexican, but love any excuse for a celebration. We used to have shirts with the Mexican flag that we wore to celebrate this special occasion, but have finally gotten rid of them. We are not drinkers, but LOVE some good Mexican food, so we'll eat and celebrate with everyone else who has no idea why they're celebrating. At least we know why this day even exists!

Renaissance Fun

Yesterday our little family, along with Laura and Jerms went to the Renaissance Festival. This was our first trip back since BM. And the weather was a whole lot better too :) The last time we went, I was with child, wore jeans and a short sleeve shirt and was freezing. Mrs. Martha ended up buying me a piece of Renaissance clothing called a Ruana to keep me warm.

This year Laura found some tickets on Craigslist for cheap, so I told her that we'd be more than happy to accompany them. We got there right before the gates opened and got to watch the opening acts. We even chatted with the captain of the Pirate ship. It's just such an interesting but fun place to go.

We watched several shows, but my favorite was the Barely Balanced Acrobatic Show. I laughed So hard. There was a little bit of adult humor, but that's probably what cracked me up the most!

I know in years past I have NEVER been impressed with the food that I've eaten there, but this year was SO different. I think that everyone enjoyed their food. Stacy ate "The King's Weenie" and got his favorite: a funnel cake. Laura and I both almost died from something called "The Death By Chocolate Brownie Sundae." All I have to say is, I probably won't be craving chocolate for a month after that!

Wonderful Weekend

Stacy got his truck back on Thursday, so exciting. They gave him a little Cobalt for the week he was truckless. Here are before and after pics. I giggle when I think of what Micah refered to Stacy's truck as (Daddy's boo boo truck :) Can you tell what $500 got us? It would have cost $3000 had we not had full coverage!!

To begin the weekend, Stacy was off on Friday. Not good because we made no money, good because we got to spend a Wonderful day in the country. I LOVE spending time at Mrs. Martha's land and was excited to be invited to go on Friday. Stacy was excited because he would have a chance to shoot his new gun. Mama, Daddy, Mrs. Martha, and Christian have been taking Bee Keeping classes at UGA for a while now and have recently made hives, and ordered some bees. It was fun to watch them all decked out in their bee attire checking their bees and looking for the queen. I must have taken 30 pics, here's a favorite.

Stacy did get to shoot his gun (not him self this time :) We got to take the Mule for a ride and took Micah to the river, look how close they came to getting in! Stacy almost fell and I clicked the button just in time :)

On Saturday we didn't have a moonwalk rental at all, which is very surprising for this time of the year, but we took advantage of the day off on such a beautiful day. It was actually Stacy's idea. We packed a picnic and went to explore the brand new park in Dacula.


I have been anxiously awaiting it's opening, but new that it's first weekend would be crazy, and this was our first chance to go. It was beautiful, not very crowded at all, and they have the BIGGEST playground around. After our picnic, we took Micah to the playground and he was in Heaven, jumping from one thing to the next, he Loved it. His favorite was the tube that you talk into and the person on the other end of the tube can talk back (I have NO idea what it's called) Micah and Stacy played and played with it. We didn't get to walk around any of the trails which was part of the plan, because Micah had an accident. I believe we'll be going there a lot though. We Love the park!

Easter Fun

Yesterday was such a beautiful day. We had a great Easter this year. We got to see and talk with a lot of our family and Micah did great at the egg hunt. He won first place for the "little people" and found 33 eggs! Enjoy some of my favorite pics of the day!

G Day 2009

We had a great day today at G Day. We headed to Athens this morning and met some friends, we hung out, tailgated, played ball and ate. Micah made sure to bring his football so that he could play his own made up game called "One Team Out." I'm not a big Rib eater, but our friend Russell makes some of the BEST ribs ever, so we all had some. Although the game wasn't a high scoring game.... Georgia won 10-3 :) Micah had a lot of fun and was happy to see Hairy, but we realized that he's still a little to small to enjoy the game. Thank goodness for Jelly beans, cheerleaders, and tickles.

Rough Week

Last week was a very rough week around the Robinson home. We really hope that next week will be much better. As far as I remember Monday was a fine day. Tuesday was filled with fun excitement, Advil, and Poison Control. One of Micah's favorite things to do is play in cars. I have NO idea what his deal is, but I have to lock all car doors when cars are not in use. It's scary. Well, Tuesday afternoon we were all in the garage (Stacy was moving tools from his truck to the Explorer.... Micah and I were watching and keeping him company.) The doors were opened so Micah climbed in the Explorer and was messing with things. He was in there for just a couple of minutes and I asked him what he was doing. Long story short, he had found a bottle of Advil, opened it, ate some, but thought it was "yucky" and spit it out. I FREAKED out! First I called Daphne, mother of six, then I called Poison Control. I was told that he would be okay, that they would be worried if he had digested 4 or more. After I found this out, and had time to take a breath, I found 3 partially eaten, the spit out Advil in the car. So, he didn't even finish a whole pill, but it was still one of the scariest Micah Moments so far.
Wednesday Morning began awful. I lent our Guitar Hero World Tour to Laura for Wonderful Wednesday at her school. I had everything packed up and ready for her to pick up at 7:30 that morning. She wasn't even gone from the house for 10 minutes, when I realized that I had forgot to pack the microphone. I hadn't even gotten dressed yet. I grabbed the mic, and the Micah and we headed to her school to give it to her. I got there and apologized and told her that everything else should be there, then I realized that I hadn't even given her the guitars!! Wonderful Wednesday was going to begin in less than 30 minutes, being that there is a detour between my home and her school, there was No way that I'd make it in time. Daphne to the rescue again :) I ran across the street to Daphne's house and borrowed her guitars and made it back in time. But I felt awful! The rest of the day was filled with busy errands and rain.
Thursday morning Stacy called me with some very sad news. Guiding Light is being canceled. It's the longest running TV drama and it's being cancelled! I have been a watcher since I was in middle school. Stacy even watches on occasion. I love the Spauldings and the Lewis'. I love Reva and Josh together and I don't know what I'll do at 3:00 in October. I could go on and on about how sad I am, but I know this will be a long post already so I'll share something funny. Several months ago Micah woke up from his nap and heard Guiding Light coming on (The Theme Song) He was so upset in his room saying "I want to watch Guiding Light." Not that I think that it's a great idea for a 2 year old to watch soaps, but he has been awake for it a handful of times and seems to enjoy it :)
Friday was a good day for all of us, minus Micah skipping his nap. Stacy came home and we rode with him to pick up his paycheck, we took Micah to have his bunny pictures made and he chose to go to The Flying Machine for dinner. I have NO idea where in the world the idea came from, but it was SO hard to turn him down, he was set on it, and plus the food is SO yummy.
Saturday was so busy. Micah and Stacy went to The Home Depot workshop and made a cool birdhouse while I went to load a moonwalk. Stacy met me after the workshop and helped me set up the moonwalk and we hung with the Rosburys until lunchtime. We had lunch and then Stacy went to meet a guy who was buying the camper shell that he had on the back of his truck. I was so excited! I have big plans for the truck. I want one of those rolling covers and have found the one I want on Craigslist. I've thought about getting a spray in bed liner. It will be nice. When we bought the camper 3 years ago we gave $500, and we sold it for $400, that's enough for the cover and almost a liner. Stacy was so excited to have the shell off of his truck that he wanted to take it to the carwash (despite the pollen) So he and Micah went. I got a call about 6:45 and he told me that he had just hit a woman. He was involved in an accident. He was a mile from home and was crossing 316. A woman was driving on 316 and his mirror was in the way, he didn't see her, hit her driver side passenger door and spun her car around (thank goodness it was a Crown Vic!) Both the lady and Stacy and Micah were okay. The lady's car was not so great, the whole back door was messed up bad, and the back wheel was hardly on. The whole front driver's side of our truck is bad. All of the lights are gone and the bumper is beat up bad, and the grill will have to be replaced. There are so many things that are good though. The lady was 66 and said that she saw Stacy coming towards her, she knew she was going to be hit, so she said "God protect us all." And he did. Everyone was safe. Thank goodness the truck is not paid off, we still have full coverage. We will have to pay our $500 copay (camper shell money) but both vehicles should be fixed. So even though I had big plans for the truck, they'll have to wait. At least I have a husband and a son!!! Maybe this week will be better :)
