On Friday we went to the town of Clayton. It's such a sweet little town.


We shopped around and went on a 1000 Island Boat tour. The tour was a child friendly tour. It was 1 1/2 hours.
We saw all kinds of islands that I'd never seen before. The whole area is called the Thousand Islands. To be an island, it has to be above water 12 months out of the year and have at least one tree on it. There are so many islands. I would SO love to own one, but it's about a million dollars, so maybe not this year :)

Vacation Part Two/ Burn

Believe it or not, I had this whole next post finished and ready to post on Sunday night, then the computer froze and lost half of my hard work...so here's the shorter version. I didn't ever mention our awfulness on our way back home, I thought I'd hold off until I got to day 11, but it can't wait. On our way back home we stopped in VA to sleep. The next morning we we all up and had ironed our clothes and we getting ready to leave when Micah Burned himself on the iron. Somehow (not sure how it happened still) he bumped into the ironing board and the iron fell off and burned him pretty bad! He never cried, he just looked sad. I'll make this sad sad story short and say that we ended up stopping at a gas station to buy some burn ointment. His arm bubbled up fast, and popped fast too. He hardly complained at all. We kept medicine on it 3 times a day. Yesterday I went to Pa-Paw's to help Mama in the garden and Micah rubbed the burn onto the side of the Gator, it pulled the raw skin off (so sorry if I'm making you sick) and it bled. It was awful, but it was even more awful when wee tried to take the bandage off this morning and it was STUCK! We ended up taking The Man to the doctor where we were told it was 2nd degree burn and that if we "had taken him to the hospital they would have given him a narcotic before removing the gauze. He is SO brave, but is in a good bit of pain still. Here's a pic of it the day that it happened, I'll try to not post the new pic, it will gross you out for sure!!


Now, back to the fun and excitement! There were a total of 11 days that we were away from home. Days one and two were spent on the road. Day three was shopping in the morning and fun in the sun in the afternoon. We had a wonderful time outside playing ball, running off 2 days worth of stored up energy, and playing in the river. The weather was Perfect!

Day four was so fun! We spent the morning at Old McDonald's Farm. We had a blast. We saw goats, cows, rabbits, chickens, alpaca, (my favorite) reindeer, you name it, we probably saw it. Micah LOVED feeding the goats more than anything. He just hugged them, and followed them. He was so cute. Beware, there are a ton of pictures, I had a Hard time narrowing it down!

The evening of day four we played a softball game. We had a BLAST! Ms. Martha was all time catcher while Laura and I played against Hannah and Stacy. The game ended in a 10- 10 tie and a couple of injuries. Hannah some how twisted her knee and was in pain, and while I was pitching, Stacy hit the ball line drive into my THIGH! It was quite painful to say the least. While we were in the cape we purchased Micah a t-ball set and he enjoyed playing ball too. Look at the future star...(although he'll probably play football...GOOO Dawgs)

Vacation Part One

My dear Aunt Martha invited us to her summer home this year. We LOVE to visit Cape Vincent New York and jumped at the chance to go. The Cape is in Upstate New York, right across the river (St. Lawrence) from Canada. It is beautiful! This year Mama and Daddy couldn't go (due to Daddy's ongoing kidney problems) but Laura hitched a ride with us. She was quite helpful with Micah during the 17 hour drive. Micah actually did GREAT! I was very pleased.

Martha and Brett actually own 2 homes in the cape. One is a historical home called "The Stone House."

The second home is called the "Johnston house," because at one time the Johnston's lived there. The Johnston family used to own a lot of land in the Cape and one of the Johnston's married the owner of The Stone House. We stayed in the Johnston house along with with Laura's in-laws.

We had a great time with Ce Ce and Mr. Jeff. Micah loved them. We were away from home for a total of 11 days and it only felt like a few. We had a ton of fun. When we finally arrived to the Cape the temperature was a bit chilly. I am not one to get cold very easily, but even I put on a jacket a couple of times during the trip. Here are a couple of pictures of my boys in jackets the first night there.

Hannah hired Micah to work at her store this year. He worked for a couple of days and then his account was closed. The money at Hannah's store is clam shells, and I'll have to show you the beautiful ring that I bought (won) this year. Here they are working at the store.

The Views from the back yard is just Amazing, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to be able to have a view like this every night.

I'll have to make this into several blogs but I'll go ahead and tell you that this trip was filled with Fun, a French Festival, a farm, a fair, and Niagara Falls.

Water Boy

Filtered water from the fridge, Dasani, water balloons, pools, water tables, water hoses, baths, showers.... It doesn't matter where the water comes from, Micah Man is a water lover (who wouldn't be when it's as hot as it is?) Well we got up bright and early 6:40 to be exact so that we could try to beat the heat a little bit and wash the Explorer. It will be coming on vacation next week and I thought it might like a little cleaning. Micah is a great car washer, He washes the parts of the car that have already been washed and dried, he loves to let the soap dry on the car, and would rather spray the person washing the car than the actual car. And let me tell you that water was mighty chilly this morning. After he "helped" me clean the car I was more than happy to fill up his pool and let him take a dip. I even hooked up the sprinkler for the first time and let him play in it. We had a nice cool morning, now bring on the heat! (Take a look at that tan line :)
