Daddy's Day

We celebrated Daddy's birthday a couple of weeks ago. Sweet Jerms cooked out and made some delicious food, the rest of us pitched in sides and drinks. We had the party at Nut's house. The kids always are happy to have events there. They like to play in the back yard and love the Kinect. We had a great time. We laughed and visited for a while. Daddy got dressy shirts and ties from all of us :)

Fair Time

I seriously LOVE the fair and was so sad that we missed it last year. Stacy thought we should hold off on the Gwinnett County fair and go to the North GA fair since he was planning to attend a concert there. We waited. The Gwinnett County fair came and went. I'm not sure what happened with the N GA one, wether it was Stacy's schedule, maybe he changed his mind.... Either way, we didn't go at all. This year I made  point to let him know that we were going the very first chance we had. The fair began on Thursday. Friday we had the race, Saturday we were crazy busy with inflatables, Sunday it was. I knew there was No way that we'd be able to go during the week this year. Micah is still wiped out every day after school and is in be no later than 6:45 and asleep.
On Sunday everyone took early naps and we were ready to go by 1:30. We got to the fair around 2 and Micah was in Heaven. He was able to ride (and wanted to ride) a couple of the Big rides this year. He was a little unsure of the roller coster, and the Tilt a Whirl, but rode them both with Stacy.

He rode all kinds of kiddie rides and was most looking forward to the bumper boats!

His favorite though were the fun houses. He LOVED the Mirror house and did it at least 5-6 times. I believe that if we had let him, he would have just stayed there the whole time.

Sweet P is still too small (for my liking) for most all of the rides. We let him do the flying elephants, the carousel, and the whole fam took a ride on the Ferris Wheel.

Stacy got his much loved funnel cake, and all was good!

Race

My new computer came today! I am beyond excited, but have A LOT of catching up to do. I'm afraid I have already forgotten a lot, so instead of starting at the longest time ago, I'll work in reverse order.
Instead of having a fundraiser selling wrapping paper, cookie dough, etc. this year, Micah's school decided to host a fun run/5K. Being that I am trying to be an involved parent, we signed up. Micah was the ONLY one in his class to sign up anyone. I signed up our little family plus Daphne and Sarah. I didn't ask Daphne, I pretty much just called her and told her that I signed her up for the 5K and to be ready! LOL We  all had a great time. Traffic was Awful but we arrived before the race began thank goodness. I pushed P while Stacy and MIcah stayed together. We ran the mile. I have not ran a mile probably since high school...... other than in a gym. The mile course was not too bad, it was mostly flat. There was just a little bit off gravel road that we had to run down. Patton loved off roading. MIcah pretty much stayed with us the entire time. If he had of taken off, he would have blown us away. Meanwhile Stacy and Micah finished in 9:15, and P and I were right behind them with 9:25. My only goal was under 10 minutes, I thought that was a fair time.

Although Sarah has run several 5Ks, this was Daphne's first. She said that she could mark it off her bucket list. Both Daph and Sarce did wonderful, despite a big hill that challenged them both. I am SO glad they ran, we all had a great time.

Not only was there a race, but there was a festival too. Micah, along with the little Rosburys played some games during the 5K, we all made it back in time to see the girls finish.

Here is Micah with one of his favorite people at school Ms. Duke! Mrs. Greene disappeared before I got a pic of them together :(

Night time

On a typical school night we begin our bed time routine around 6:45. Since Micah is now napless, he is ready for bed by no later than 7 on a school night. We have had quite a time adjusting to the change, but when a boy chooses to be up by 5:45 every morning, I think 7-7:30 is more than fair enough for him to be in bed. On a normal night when Stacy is in town, I take care of P and Stacy takes care of Micah. We meet in the middle for the ending of Micah's routine. When Stacy is out of town, sometimes we just start earlier so that I have enough time to get everything done. After books and prayers Micah has started his own routine of "Puff up" He likes for me to puff up my cheeks one at a time for him to kiss, then I kiss his sweet puffed up cheeks and then we hug. He is a sweet boy when he wants to be :)

Hailey

Hailey is the person who Micah talks the most about this year. From what he tells me she seems to be pretty nice. So far Micah hasn't had a hard time choosing friends who are girls, normally the same ones I would choose. I'm not sure what they do together, or talk about. But this afternoon Micah told me that Hailey told him that her dad or granddad told her that "it sounds like Micah is falling in love with you." I'm not sure what to think about that one.....

So ready

I am SO ready to have a computer again! Meanwhile I have rediscovered reading! I would never say that reading is a favorite pastime, but being that I am computer less and I have to be quite while babies are sleeping (I'm keeping a teacher's baby this year) I Do love Nicholas Sparks, but have found another book that I really enjoyed. Mama texted me last week and asked me if the boys would like to spend the night with her over the weekend. No doubt about it. I'm sure Micah would rather live with her..... Stacy and I had No idea what we might do. We thought about going to the football game, we talked about going to look at cars..... We ended up Bra shopping! Not a fun thing for me at all, but much needed. We went to Kohl's and were there for close to an hour and a half, that Never would have happened with little people in tow. We ended up getting a lot of shopping accomplished spent $135 and SAVED $397!!! Not bad eh?! We went to several other stores including the book store. I thought it might be nice to read a book. I had a book in mind but it wasn't in stock, SO I chose a book that Laura and Hannah both enjoyed. I bought Divergent. I was extremely surprised at how much I liked the book. I finished it in 5 days! That is VERY impressive for me! I NEED the next one. I plan to go to the bookstore again tomorrow for Insurgent. So excited, but not looking forward to waiting until the 3rd book is released.....
Stacy and I had a wonderful time spending some alone time together. We got a lot accomplished and after dinner out on Saturday, we came home and relaxed. It was a much needed treat. Thank you Mama!!

Curriculum night

I am still computer less... So hopefully blogging through the phone will catch me up a little and hopefully I won't forget too much.....
Curriculum night was last week. I'm still getting used to the not so perfect organization of Micah's school. At open house I received a flyer about curriculum night. The date was August 30th at 6:30. I had planned to go and had Stacy try to arrange to be home with the boys so that I could go. On Tuesday night we received a calling post reminding us of the curriculum night on WEDNESDAY night. Hmmmm, I checked my flyer and my calendar, surely there was a mistake, but to be safe, I called on Wednesday to make sure. It was a mistake, it was actually on Thursday, but now Stacy was in Alabama and wouldn't be home in time to help. Thankfully Mama was able to keep the boys while I went.
When I walked into the school everyone was gathered in the lobby, parents and children galore! I didn't think that this event was for children, but there were a ton of kids there! It was more like a circus than a PTA meeting! After standing around for about 5 minutes there was an announcement telling us to go to our classrooms. Out of 21 kids in Micah's class, only me and one other mom (who brought her THREE wild kids with her) came. I really Love Micah's teacher! If I could have made a list of all of the things that I would love in a teacher for Micah, she would have qualified and exceeded! I felt so bad for her that no parents came. As she talked, I watched, listened, and asked questions. The other mom (poor thing) watched her children the whole time and never even made eye contact with the teacher :( It was interesting to say the least.
I was able to talk with Ms. Greene for a while after the first classroom session was over since no body else came.... She told me how smart Micah is. She told me that if he had gone to BCA, they would have probably placed him in the 2nd grade! I knew he was smart, but 2nd grade?!?! She let me know that he'll be in a first grade reading group and that she'd really like to have him tested for gifted! I'm blogging all of this, not to brag on Micah, but for my own memory. I have known that Micah was intelligent since he was 2, but hearing things like this come from a teacher actually mean a Whole lot to me. She said "I've taught high children before, but he is extremely high." Man I'm proud of Micah. I sure hope he doesn't get bored! Ms. Greene made me laugh when she told me that Micah is always the first one finished with his work. And when he finishes he helps other people around him. The other day she caught him trying to fix someone's work that they had done wrong! What a crazy kid!! I may have to add more as I remember it, but she told me that to go to the first grade the kids have to be able to read 25 words, they had to stop him at 40! Really hoping for a good year!
