Future Photographer

Micah LOVES cameras, video cameras, computers, i phones, pretty much anything electronic. He's pretty good at using them too. He's the main reason I purchased my new i phone (which I LOVE) He is so good at it and knows more about it than I do! He's had Mama's to practice on for about a year though. I LOVE my new phone but that's another story for another day. Today I wanted talk about Micah's photo skills and share some of his photos.
You may think his pics are a little strange, but they are all things he loves. He loves his Aunt Laura, Cats, hence the cat litter, and the BIG bat at Costco. He is one silly man.
Micah told me a while back that he'd like a camera for his birthday (meaning Christmas) He also specified that he wanted one like mine, not a play one! Um, you're Three. Meanwhile I showed him one of those Kid Tough cameras, and told him it was a neat one, he'd still like one like mine. Hmmm I'm thinking that maybe just maybe I'll buy a new one for myself and just give him me old one, the other option is buying him a nice cheap one on Black Friday, decisions decisions.

Being Thankful

The month of November is about being thankful. I'm sure it wouldn't take me very long to think of 30 things that I am thankful for, but today I am SO Thankful for not only Micah's Wonderful school, but his teachers, the children in his class and their parents. I just love his school! Today Micah's class had their Thanksgiving Feast. The kids all had made darling little hand turkey shirts and wore them along with their Indian headdresses with the Indian names on them. Micah was "Flying Eagle." Mrs. Scott painted their faces with tee pees and they looked darling. Mrs. Kathy was dressed as a Pilgrim as she served food, and there was a lot of yummy food. Including a HUGE table of desserts. Here's what we made! Darling huh?
We had So much fun at the feast. I just LOVE Micah's school!!

UGA Football

UGA football is one of my favorite things! I LOVE going to Athens on game day. There are wonderful smells and excitement everywhere. As long as you're wearing Red or black you'll find friends wherever you go. I used to have season tickets, but when the donation requirement was raised, I had to opt out. I have a wonderful uncle who has been a season ticket holder for forever and he VERY kindly passed his tickets on to our family last week. We jumped at the chance to go see the Dawgs play between the hedges. Even though this hasn't been one of our best seasons by far, I would Never turn down the chance to see a game. Plus Micah hadn't been to a real game yet. We've taken him to picture days, and even to the G Day game during the spring, but EVERYTHING about game day is different! Have I mentioned that I LOVE it?
Stacy and I had a date night on Friday night and Micah spent the night at The Rent's house. We picked him up early Saturday morning and headed to Athens. We tailgated with some friends and had a fun time before heading the the UGA bookstore.

My Uncle's seats are GREAT seats, although my first year's season ticket seats will Always be my favorite, there isn't a bad seat in the house (at least of the ones that I've sat in) We all enjoyed a Home Coming whopping of Tennessee Tech and are very thankful that we got to go! GOOO DAWGS!!
As we were leaving the game I asked Micah if he had fun, and he said yes. Then I asked him what his favorite thing was and he said "dancing with that girl." He and Peyton became the best of friends and sang and danced at the tailgate party.....So for now on, maybe we'll just let Micah party outside the gates :)

Halloween (only a week late :~)

We attended the Fall festival at the church this year and knew that it would be in doors due to the rain. We showed up a little early and Micah played all kinds of games. He had a BLAST but was ready to go to Mam-ma's house within an hour. We left with a TON of candy!!
He was So excited and asked if there would be games at Mam-ma's house. There were no games, but my goodness did we get a surprise or what? Mama, Daddy, and Nut ALL were dressed up and had pumpkins lit on the porch and all!! They crack me up!!
Mama had a bowl FULL of Micah's favorite things for him to have (there were Nilla Waffers, some kind of nut energy mix, fruit snacks, bandaids, and candy!) He was so happy! We visited for a while before heading to Mr. Jeff and Mrs. Cindy's house (Micah wanted to go there too) They had some candy for him and it just made his night to be able to see them too :) By this time it was around 7:30 or so, I thought it would be a great surprise to go by Stacy's parents, so we did. They LOVED that! On our way home we began thinking it would probably be a good idea to eat supper (VERY late for us) We stopped at a place in Monroe called Joe Shmoe's Pizza. It was So yummy! If you're ever in Monroe you should try it :) Take a look at Bones below!

Bones

Anyone who knows me and knows my taste in clothes will be VERY surprised with what I'm about to share. A couple of weeks ago Micah and I went shopping for warm pajamas. First I hit the Dreaded Wal-Mart and they had NOTHING for a boy his size. I wasn't sad, I just thought I could pick up some of the off brand of Carter's for cheap. No luck. We then hit Discover Mills. I found some cute ones at Carter's and bought them. I had plans to meet my sweet aunt for lunch and had some time to waste, so we went into Gymboree. I LOVE that place!! I found several short sleeve shirts for next spring/ summer and while checking out I told the worker bee that we were PJ shopping. Well she showed me some that they had on sale for $5.99, not bad at all especially for Gymboree. I bought them. They are MIcah's most favorite PJs and he would sleep in them EVERY night if I'd let him. What do you think of "Bones?" BTW they glow in the dark! CRAZY!!!

Green Ash

When we first moved into our house, the tree that had been planted in our front island died. We quickly replaced it with a Magnolia, it died. Then we got a Maple tree, it died. Finally when I was just about ready to give up having a tree in our front island all together, Home Depot put all of their trees on Clearance for fall/ winter. I found a tree called Green Ash, the description said that it was drought tolerant, and would grow in nearly any soil. It cost $4.97 and had a one year warranty. I bought the tree. It quickly adapted to our yard and shot up. It is taller than nearly everyone else's trees and was planted much later than most. It is a happy tree, plus during the spring and summer it blocks me from seeing my neighbor's house across the street :) This year when the tree began to change 2-3 weeks ago, it looked beautiful, especially with my yellow lantana still in bloom.

No matter how hard I think about this next part, I can not for the life of me figure it out. But as soon as the leaves began falling from the Green Ash, Micah said "The leaves are falling that mean Halloween is almost here." Halloween is by far not one of the most celebrated things at our home. We don't go trick or treating (we'll go to the church) So I'm not sure what made him even think this. Anyway every morning when Micah wakes up first he asks me, "Is the ice cream bus coming today?" Then he asks what the day is and if he's going to school. For the last couple of weeks every day Micah has commented on the tree and told me that Halloween is coming because the leaves are nearly gone. Stacy and I just laughed it off until yesterday. This is what we saw!!

There is one lone leaf left on this tree. Take a real close look and you'll see it at the top. Needless to say, as soon as there was daylight outside this morning, I looked at that tree.... Yep, you guessed it, NO LEAVES!! It is CRAZY! Just thought I'd share :)
