No Paci, Poo Poo in the Potty Pizza Party

We finally had it! Micah has been paciless for a while now, but has had a major problem with pooping in the potty (TMI?) I won't go into detail or anything, but he made a BIG step 2 weeks ago, and has been doing a whole lot better with this. We had bribed him with almost everything known to mankind, and Chuck E Cheese's did the job. This evening we celebrated and had a No paci, Poo Poo in the Potty Pizza Party. We had fun. We have accomplished a lot this year and the Next step is School! :)

Old Neighbors, Still Friends

About 3 weeks ago I received a phone call that made my day. Luce, my old neighbor called and told me that they were coming to Georgia for a quick visit. I was SO excited! It even made me finally introduce myself to my new neighbors.... I knew I needed to, I just hadn't had time. Come to find out the new neighbors are young like us and are recently married and are having a baby girl in a little more than a month. They seem really nice. I was really worried about who might move in, but so far, so good, with the exception of the grass cutting situation ;) Anyway Last week while I was out working in the yard a van drove by and honked, and it was my most favoritest neighbors in the World.... Cassio, Luce, and Lucas minus the girls.

I was so happy! We chatted and spent about an hour together until it began to rain, but it was the best part of my day by far. Micah and Lucas played together and it made me sad again that they moved, because I'm sure that even though they're 18 months apart, Micah and Lucas probably would have been the best of friends.

I was sad to see them leave, but I know that I'll see them again, even if next time I have to go to Brazil....Now wouldn't that be nice?

5 Year Anniversary (a little late)

On May 22nd Stacy and I celebrated 5 happy years of marriage. It seems just like yesterday we were saying I do. We spent a wonderful Honeymoon at Sandals in St. Lucia, and since my scanner is not doing as I want it to do right now, I can't post any wedding pics.... So I'll post some pics of our wonderful Honeymoon.

We were SO hoping celebrate with a small get away this year, but weren't able to, maybe next year :) We plan on having a date night this weekend and I can't wait! Stacy has been working out of town and is gone Monday- Friday, so my week is spent counting down the days until he comes home again. Isn't it nice to have someone love you that much?

Memorial Day

We had a fun Memorial Day this year. We attended the Dacula Memorial Day parade as we tend to do every year. I was surprised to see such a good turn out with the weather as questionable as it has been recently. We had a fun time and saw lots of friends. Micah's favorite, of course, was the candy.

Tradition is that we all attend the parade, have lunch at Sonny's, and then spend the afternoon swimming at the Rent's. This year half of the family didn't even come to the parade, but most ended up meeting for lunch anyway. We still went to the Rent's, but the pool was SO Cold only the children were brave enough to enter. I Love the pool and can't wait to get in!

Where did that come from?

Micah is becoming quite the talker and isn't afraid to say whatever he's feeling or thinking... Like the other day when we were leaving Publix and as we passed a man in the parking lot Micah said loud enough for the man to hear, "I not like that man." Where did that come from? This morning he was begging and begging to go to "the new Petsmart." We don't even own a pet....I finally asked him why he wanted to go so bad and he told me that he was going to take his (imaginary) kitties back and buy a new green cow-monkey :) Where did that come from? And when I was getting ready to put him in the shower this morning I said, "I'm going to get your clothes ready and put you in the shower." To which Micah responded "Aye Aye Captain Mama." Where did that come from? Maybe I'll never know. LOL

He's not my baby

He's my BIG boy! BM was born I always said that My baby would NEVER have a Pacifier. Well that changed very quickly when our pediatrician told me when Micah was only a few days old, that he needed the sucking of the paci to help him poop. I probably cried, but I don't remember. Anyway, I always said that it's easier to throw away a paci than to cut off a thumb. I know how hard it is to stop thumb sucking. For as long as I can remember Micah has only had his paci if he was in bed, that was a rule I began Very early. I didn't want to have a 2 year old begging for it out in public. Well, I have been preparing myself for a while now and really wanted to get this potty training thing down before we moved to something else. Micah's doing great with pottying (other than pooping TMI?) Anyway, Stacy is out of town working until the weekend and I decided that it was time. I began to prepare Micah 2 days ago. We decided that we would tie to paci to a balloon and send it to a baby in Heaven. Micah told me that it would be going to a baby he referred to as "Baby Belle." I have NO idea where this came from, but I played along. This morning after a trip to Publix for a balloon, we began to get ready to say Bye Bye. Micah reacted a whole lot better than I expected, but nap time was Non existent. Needless to say he was SO sleepy tonight and went to bed before I could even close his door. We'll see how the next few days go!

What would I be doing if I wasn't a mother

I have NO idea. For the past 33 months I have been a Mama. I quit my job to stay home and take care of my sweet boy.

I am the mother of Micah. The Busiest Boy in town. He keeps me going all of the time, that's for sure. I think that if you ever have a problem falling asleep at night, just borrow Micah for the day, you'll sleep great after a day with him :) He is JUST like the Energizer Bunny, he keeps going and going. I Love Micah with all of my heart and don't know what I'd do without him. Yesterday he told me Happy Mothers Day numerous times throughout the day. Stacy cooked a wonderful breakfast for me while I, along with the sisters made lunch for our dear Mama. I had a pretty restful day and even got to enjoy a nap! I never ever get to take naps, but I have been SO tired lately. I just don't know what's wrong, other than the fact that I chase a little man all day :) For Mothers' Day all I asked for was Pine bark for our yard, I have yet to get that, but I did get a little wheelbarrow that Micah made me at The Home Depot workshop and a flower. I also got a Much needed memory card for my camera. Here's some pics from the day :)

Cinco De Mayo

The image “http://arizonakate.com/lettering/azk-cinco-mayo-8.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Why is Cinco de mayo celebrated?
This day marks the victory of a small, poorly armed force of around 4,500 soldiers over the French invasion of a well-armed, professional army led by Napoleon III that had about 8,000 soldiers. This battle is popularly known as the legendary Battle of Puebla. The battle lasted for 4 hours and ended in the victory of the small Mexican army under Gen. Ignacio Zaragoza. So Cinco de mayo is hugely celebrated with pomp , gaiety and fiestas in the traditional Mexican style.

We are not Mexican, but love any excuse for a celebration. We used to have shirts with the Mexican flag that we wore to celebrate this special occasion, but have finally gotten rid of them. We are not drinkers, but LOVE some good Mexican food, so we'll eat and celebrate with everyone else who has no idea why they're celebrating. At least we know why this day even exists!

Taco Anyone?

Renaissance Fun

Yesterday our little family, along with Laura and Jerms went to the Renaissance Festival. This was our first trip back since BM. And the weather was a whole lot better too :) The last time we went, I was with child, wore jeans and a short sleeve shirt and was freezing. Mrs. Martha ended up buying me a piece of Renaissance clothing called a Ruana to keep me warm.

This year Laura found some tickets on Craigslist for cheap, so I told her that we'd be more than happy to accompany them. We got there right before the gates opened and got to watch the opening acts. We even chatted with the captain of the Pirate ship. It's just such an interesting but fun place to go.

We watched several shows, but my favorite was the Barely Balanced Acrobatic Show. I laughed So hard. There was a little bit of adult humor, but that's probably what cracked me up the most!

I know in years past I have NEVER been impressed with the food that I've eaten there, but this year was SO different. I think that everyone enjoyed their food. Stacy ate "The King's Weenie" and got his favorite: a funnel cake. Laura and I both almost died from something called "The Death By Chocolate Brownie Sundae." All I have to say is, I probably won't be craving chocolate for a month after that!
