Picture Day 2009

Picture day at UGA is only one of my favorite days of the year, next to my birthday, Christmas, my anniversary, the day the pool opens....the list goes on. Anyway Picture Day was last Saturday. Stacy arrived extra early (4:00 am) for an Uga ticket and some of our friends shared a Mark Richt ticket with us, so we had the best of both worlds. When anyone asks me what the day consists of and I tell people exactly what it is...waiting in line after line after line, hoping to get some good autographs and or pics. It turns into a really long day. We saw several of our friends and had a lot of fun.
The first half of our day was spent waiting for Uga pictures. We ended up being 6th in line and Micah was so excited to see the newest Uga. He was so tired and had his eyes closed, Micah was a hoot trying to open his eyes.
As soon as we walked out of Uga's room, Micah asked, "Are the cheerleaders out?" I told him that I didn't know, but as soon as we walked down the ramp, whom should we see but a group of cheerleaders. He was so excited, but got shy very quickly :)
Then we saw Hairy! Micah had asked me before we even got to Athens to not be in his Hairy picture. (I had to be at the G Day game) He told me that he wanted to see Hairy by himself. He cracks me up!
Not only does Micah (unlike Stacy or myself) not like to sleep, but he has been doing some MAJOR sleep fighting recently. But after such a long day of waiting in lines, Micah was worn out. Stacy pushed him in his stroller for a few minutes, and he just crashed. I could count the number of pictures that I own of Micah sleeping, I don't have very many at all. So I take as many as I can if I ever catch him sleeping.
His nap lasted just over an hour and a half. I ended up waking him up so that he could meet Coach Mark Richt. We just love this guy. We had a blast and can't wait for football to begin!!!

Micah is THREE!!

It seems like just yesterday I was bringing home this little boy from the hospital (well maybe not, but 3 years have flown by) We celebrated his birthday 3 weeks ago and I've finally gotten SOME of the pics loaded, so I thought I'd try to update. I began asking Micah months ago what kind of party he'd like to have this year. I gave him birthday catalogs to look through, and I gave him ALL kinds of ideas for themes. He just couldn't make his little mind up this year for some reason. I joke that I had his 1st birthday planned 6-8 weeks in advance, his 2nd birthday was closer to 4-6 weeks, his 3rd birthday was planned in ONE WEEK!! It was crazy! Micah kept coming up with crazy ideas for his party. For example at one time he wanted a Pinata party, with nothing but pinatas, then he decided that he wanted a "soup party," and he was planning on giving people "soup in cups" it's August for goodness sakes! Who in the world would come to a soup party?! In the end Stacy and I ended up taking The Man to Party City and making him choose. He choose Thomas the train.

Everyone who knows Micah knows that he LOVES anything and everything that has to do with any mode of transportation, but for some reason when I tried months ago to talk him into having a Thomas party, he would have NOTHING to do with it. Crazy I know. Anyway, after picking up at supplies at Party City and finding out they had sold of of Thomas Pinatas, I knew why I don't do last minute things. One of Micah's newest friends Ce Ce came to the rescue and picked one up near her work! We were very thankful. The cake was ordered the day before the party, Major thank you to Publix, not only was the cake one of the coolest EVER, but it was delicious as always.

We had a fun party despite all of the last minute craziness. Here are some more party pics. Hope to catch up on some more blogs soon.....I'd had computer issues :(

I Scream, You Scream

We all scream for ice cream :) So the Coolest thing happened last week.... The Ice cream Van/ Bus came through OUR neighborhood! I hadn't seen one inside of a neighborhood since I was like 5! It was so exciting! Stacy, Daddy, Micah, Mr. Jeff, and I were all outside cleaning the boat (story for another day)

when all of a sudden we heard the old familiar sound of the ice cream van. It was true it came closer and closer. Mr. Jeff who is one of Micah's newest buddies took him over to choose an ice cream.

Micah choose one. A $2 one at that! Micah who tends to have expensive taste chose one of the most expensive ice creams on the bus (they did have some for fifty cents)

Micah who is so kind, was more than willing to share, but neither Stacy or Mr, Jeff liked that funny tasting banana bubble gum thing as much as Micah Man. He was in Heaven :) When the ice cream lady left, she made sure to say "see you next week." Uh Oh! Maybe he'll be napping then :)

Happy Birthday to me

I had a wonderful birthday celebration this year filled with fun, friends, and family. This year Stacy tried really hard to buy me some clothes and shoes. None of the clothes that he bought fit, and the shoes were too small. Needless to say, I picked out my own things after returning his. We enjoyed a nearly totally free lunch at Chick-fil-A and that evening Mama and Daddy watched Micah so that Stacy and I could go out on a date. We hung out with our dear friends Randy and Susan. We are so lucky to have such great friends :)

We had so much fun. We ate at The Cheesecake Factory (surprise surprise) and it was delicious. I was thinking that we'd go see Funny People after dinner, but we saw Hangover instead. I laughed harder than I have laughed in a Long time! It was a movie with some VERY wrong parts, but was Hilarious, none the less. Sunday the fam celebrated me at lunch. Daph made a Delicious double doozie cookie cake! Oh my, was it tasty!

I asked for money this year, and it's what I got. I am in Major need of memory for my computer....it may be that it's 5 years old, but it may be that I have nearly 10,000 pictures on here. Either way, I'm having a hard time keeping up with my blogs because I can't download my pics....and what's a blog without pics? Also I made and bought a Blog book from Blurb, it should be here this week! I can't wait to see how it'll turn out!
