Playing Catch Up... Micah's First Day

There are several posts below this one. I am trying to play catch up before tomorrow:) This week is a busy one for our family. Micah began school on Monday! I was extremly excited when I got a call a couple of weeks ago telling me when his school began. I was thinking the didn't begin until after Labor Day. I was mistaken, and I'm happy about it! Micah missed school SO much. He was very happy to go back. When Mrs. Scott called me to talk about school she told me that she and Mrs. Boswell ( the 4 year old teacher) had talked about it, and both felt that Micah was ready to go into the 4 year old class. You all know this is something I've thought about a lot. My poor August baby! Anyway, after a lot of discussion we decided we'd try him out in 4 year old class room. We're ready to move him back down if we need to, but I don't think that we'll have to. Micah is very smart. I always wonder where he learns a lot of the things that he knows. I think he'll do fine, we'll hold him back later and deal with that when we need to. Meanwhile here he is on the first day with his sweet teacher Mrs. Boswell :)

Any day now...

So although I belived that I was due with PBR last Friday, the Dr. said that his records show that my due date was actually not the 20th, but the 22nd. Either way, he is still not here. At my appointment last week he really got my hopes up that this baby would be here very soon. 6 days later.... Nothing. I have done Nearly everything that I could, other than castor oil to make this baby boy come. Last weekend we went to Scalini's because it's said that pregnant women who order their Eggplant Parm tend to go into labor after eating it. If you do go into labor within 48 after eating there they give you a $25 gift card and a "Scalini's baby t-shirt". That was on Saturday night, so when Nothing had happened by 7:00 last night, I knew PBR is just as happy as can be in his cozy little home.

I have tried spicy foods, despite the heartburn, I have Walked Walked Walked for hours. Anyway, for the past 2 months or so my Dr. has been telling me that PBR is measuring Big (he told me the same thing with Micah, and Micah was only 7lbs. 13 oz) My guess is that this boy will be at least a little bigger though, I mean my stomach is stretched more than I thought it could EVER stretch! Anyway, unless something happens tonight, I have an appt. to be induced tomorrow. I'm scared, nervous, but excited at the same time. Please keep us in your prayers.

Dora Dora Dora the Explorer

Most of you already know that I am addicted to ironing. I typically wait until I have several days worth of clothes before I iron, just to make it worth my while. One day last week while I was ironing and watching CMT a commercial came on that really caught Micah's attention. It was a Brand Smart USA commercial saying that on Saturday from 1-3 Dora the Explorer would be at the Doraville location. Micah soaked up everything about the commercial and wanted SO bad to go. Since I could be having a baby any second, we skipped out on UGA picture day this year. I was Very sad, but I knew I wouldn't be able to handle the lines and heat, therefore we ended up in Doraville with a VERY excited 4 year old. We got there right at 1:00 and the line was already long. We waited for about 30 minutes to see Dora. His day was made!! We made it just in time, because when we left the line to see Dora was as long as a line for a ride at Six Flags. I'm sure it was at least a 2 hour wait!

Micah's Birthday

I have been having problems yet again, loading pics onto my computer. So soon I will blog about Micah's FUN fourth birthday party, but for now.... here is his actual Birthday. On his birthday we had a relaxing morning at home and then spent some wonderful time in the pool during the afternoon. We surprised Micah and took him to Chuck E Cheese for supper. Since Micah's second birthday, we've gone there. This year we invited everyone who had been swimming with us. It had been a VERY long time since anyone else had been there. We all truly enjoyed ourselves and had a great time.

The Big 3 0

August seems to be the month for birthdays. I celebrated mine last week, Micah's and Laura's are both this week, and some time soon PBR will be making his appearance. For my birthday I got money, I'm saving for a new laptop, I also got itunes cards, and an otterbox for my phone. We celebrated with the fam on Sunday and had a great time. Stacy and I had planned on going out on a date, but ended up taking Micah along. We had Provino's for dinner, (of course) because you eat for free on your birthday. On Monday, sweet Ms. Martha invited us to dinner at Aomi. We had a delicious dinner and probably ate too much, but enjoyed the show and singing afterwards :) Enjoy some pics of the many desserts of Miriam minus the Provino's one :(

Shower Fun

I have some wonderful family and friends. When my dear sweet sister Daphne offered to throw me a baby shower, I was SO excited. I sold the majority of Micah's things thinking that we'd have an only child. So I was very happy to have a shower to celebrate PBR. Some of my dear friends and family came. I got a lot of fun things and was able to check some things off my list of needs :) Poor Daphne has been sick for several weeks now, I felt so bad for her. But she did a WONDERFUL job! She had some fun games to play, and yummy food too.

My other dear sister Laura was in charge of the cake. I thought it would be fun to have a belly cake, but was SO happy with the way this cake turned out and tasted too. It was so moist and yummy.

BTW don't I look cute? With flip flops and all :)

There are not very many preggo pics of me. I do not at all feel like one of those beautiful glowing pregnant women. I feel extra fat, hot, and miserable a lot of the time. But when My bestest friend in the whole wide world (who is also with child) wanted a pic of the two of us pregnant, I didn't say no. So here we are. Note: Sweet Sarah is only 20 weeks and I'm 38 hence the major size difference ;)

A major Thank you goes out to the shower hostesses and ALL of you who attended the shower! I love you all and am lucky to have you in my life :)

Micah's FOUR!

I CAN NOT believe that Micah is four years old!! I feel like so far, this been the best year of his life by far. I think that starting school was a huge thing. The past year has been full of excitement. After one month of school Micah got sick, and stayed sick with a cold for the majority of the school year. He went through allergy testing only to find out he wasn't allergic to anything that a 3 year old can be tested for (with pricks). We had multiple visits to an ENT and he went through many antibiotics, the poor boy Always had a running nose. The conclusion was it could be that his adenoids were small, and we Could have them removed. The all ended and in maybe March? I was at that point still very sick and couldn't even think straight. We never made a final decision whether or not to have hie adenoids removed, because all of a sudden he got better! He has been well ever since until recently. I took him to the doctor because he had a nasty runny nose and a cough that didn't sound good. I was told the poor buy had a Double ear infection :(
*Micah is 4 years old, weighs 40 pounds, and is 40 inches :)
*Micah can say his ABCs and can recognize, type, and write most letters.
*He can count to 40, maybe higher.
*He asks questions ALL of the time and is constantly learning.
*This is the year that he discovered a love for TV. He was never a child that I could sit in front of the TV even just to vacuum, until this year. When I got sick he spent a good bit of time in front of the TV. He really likes to watch Curious George, Calliou, (my least favorite of any show) Wonder Pets, and Dora. He's recently discovered Sprout and loves it.
* He loves and is Great with anything Apple like the iphone, ipod, ipad, and laptop.
* His favorite color right now is orange
*His (imaginary) Kitties are still living with us and going strong. I hear different stories about them Every day!
*He has plans for his future. He now not only wants to be a fireman, but he now wants to open a restaurant in North Georgia he plans to name it "The Spicy Biscuit." I can't wait to eat there! Micah Loves to cook and I would not be surprised in the least if he became the next host on The Food Network :) (We can hope)
* Micah Loves to Go and had a really hard several months when I was sick and didn't go anywhere. He Loves to go to school, Publix, (Pugawix) Target, and the mall are some of his favorites.
*He can take care of himself Very well. He can make his own sandwich, bathe himself, dress himself, and wants really bad to brush his own teeth, but he's not ready for that. Thankfully he can now buckle himself in the car! This will be a wonderful thing in a couple of weeks :)
*His favorite game to play is Plants Vs. Zombies. He became a bit obsessed with it for a while, but he's gotten a lot better.
*He can ride his bike Very well, and we will probably try to remove the training wheels sometime soon.
*He Still loves to be outside and would live outside if it wasn't so hot, and somedays I might just let him :)
*He learned to swim all by himself this summer!
*He went to his very first movie at the theater.
*His birthday list consisted of Lincoln Logs, a REAL red motorcycle, an ipad, and traffic cones.
*He really wants to learn how to read, and this scares me a little bit :0
*He has just recently became what I consider a picky eater. Until recently, he's eaten nearly anything that was put in front of him. I do not cater to picky eaters, so he'll have to just deal.
There are probably a lot of things that I'm missing, but I'll add them for my own self whenever I think if things. We celebrated Micah's birthday two weekends ago and I'll update with pictures of that soon :) Until then, enjoy some of Micah through the years.
