What in the world?

What in the world have we been up to lately? Not a whole lot and a whole lot all together. This summer has been a trying one to say the least. It's hard being a stay at home mom. Micah and I have had our ups and downs this summer. Mama suggested using a chart. Micah's chart was by far nothing that I spent a whole lot of time on at all. The chart had 5 columns and three goals. When I first made it, I knew it would take a LONG time for him to fill it up. He has NO problem helping clean and do chores around the house, so it was no surprise that he had that part full in no time. What our issue has been is obeying and showing respect. Long story short, 5 stickers took 14 days. We celebrated with Micah's choice of a movie and popcorn. We don't watch a whole lot of movies, and I can not stand the smell of popcorn, so this was a treat for sure. He was SO proud when the chart was FINALLY full!
When I get something in my head, I either forget it very quickly or go all out. I got really excited when Micah told me that he wanted to have a "Curious George, Bubble gum, water slide party." The problem was he had a Curious George party last year, and I wasn't really sure if I wanted to do the water slide this year.... So bubble gum it is. I have had a GREAT time planning this. I am SOOO excited. So excited that I even forgot that I'll be having a birthday myself soon. Micah wanted to invite 10 people to his party, his idea. The party would be more than 10 with just our family, but Micah did invite two of his favorite people from school. Have I mentioned how excited I am?! Take a look at the invite. It's his favorite color and all :) (I deleted the time and place for security reasons)
Our summer thus far has been wonderful with Sweet P in it. I have no clue what I'd do if I never had this sweet boy! He doesn't love photos as much as I'd like him too, but here a couple cute ones.... Elvis
Sweet smile
Some of his teeth
P was SO miserable the other night. He SCREAMED from 9-1. Slept from 1-4:40. SCREAMED from 4:30-6:30 and slept from 6:30-8. It was AWFUL! I gave him teething tablets, mylicon, and finally tylenol. NOTHING helped. It was BAD.
Needless to say, the next day I made a Dr. appt. She checked his ears, looked good. Checked his throat, looked good. Checked his joints for growth pain, fine. What in the world!? Stacy finally figured it out. Out sweet P had some (a Lot) of purple peas from Mama's garden for lunch. Either he had an upset stomach, or awful gas. He was miserable. After the Dr. he ended up sleeping from 1:30- 6...... That made up for it if you ask me :) That evening, he was back to his happy self. Doing what he loves most, playing with Micah.
Last week we came home from shopping and found a note on the door. It was from Luce. We were SO excited and had no idea that our favorite neighbor was here. She came to visit and brought her children (plus some friends) with her. It was SO nice seeing her, but it made me miss them that much more. LOVE that family.
Just in case you would like to know what I've been listening to Over and Over and Over during the past week it's this song. Micah goes through his favorite songs and loves hearing them, singing them, and talking about them. But I think this has been the song that I've heard the most of. The CD is on repeat in his room 24 hours of the day, he brings it in the van, and.....to be truthful, if I never had to hear this song again, I wouldn't be sad. I guess, at least it's a christian song..... It could be a lot worse.....
I have been trying to come up with fun things that we could do this summer that were free or cheap, and that Micah would enjoy, and that Patton would be okay with. I knew that we wouldn't be able to do the summer movies this year, so that was one thing off the list. I thought about a water park..... Thinking we'll do that soon. The Suwannee fountains would be fun..... Maybe next week? This week we met a friend of Micah's from school and his mom and brother at Mayfield. That is always a fun place. We got there a little early, so I took some pics of my sweet boys. Isn't Micah getting so big!?
After the tour (yes, Micah was the ONLY one on the tour who wore a hair net:-) the boys had fun milking the cow and eating ice cream. We had a fun time. (Even the little guys enjoyed themselves)

This week so far....

No matter how many times in the past 4 years I've said "Scissors are only for paper," Micah has cut his hair. We both cried a little.
He broke the light in Patton's room trying to get his pacifier down. (He got it stuck and threw a empty juice container at it)
The good news is he found out that this was a "Tricearaptor bone" that he was eating.
Man, I need a vacation!

Cow Appreciation

Last Friday was Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A. We all got dressed up and headed over to meet Daph and fam. Mama was planning to come, but didn't and Nut had plans with friends.... So she stopped by for a few and hung with us. Here we all are. Notice Patton even participated this year :) My favorite costume was E's though. SO cool!

Fun for the 4th

In the past, we have worked in Conyers for the 4th of July. We have always celebrated the 4th on the 3rd. Although this year I decided not to work in Conyers, we still celebrated on the 3rd..... and on the 4th as well. Due to the strange weather we've been having, I didn't have a chance to get in the pool either day, but the children did. On the 3rd, Stacy grilled out for everyone and we just hung out.
That evening we had a moonwalk rented in Auburn so we headed that way with the rents. We really enjoyed our time last year, and were looking forward to a fun time. We walked around watching the interesting people until we saw this!
Micah wanted to try it SO bad. Thank goodness for Mam-ma, beacause she paid for him to do it. He LOVED it! Daddy has been talking about purchasing one for Party Jumps, what do you think?
After wearing him out in the ball, we continued our walk until we got the the rocks. Micah was allowed to choose 4 stones for $1. He was most excited about "the one in the crystal family." (Notice the hat.....He has hardly taken it off since our trip to the landfill) Silly Boy!
After checking out the booths, we headed back to the church that had our moonwalk. Mama took the boys on a hayride and we hung out until the fireworks began.
It began to get dark and I was able to take of couple of pics of my sweet boys before the fireworks began. I knew Micah would love them. He'd been talking about them for weeks, and even told Patton the way that they make fireworks is "they shoot a gun in the air and the colored fire comes out." I wasn't sure how Patton would do. At first he was a little jumpy, he never cried, but by the end he was nearly asleep.
On the 4th it thundered almost all day long, so no day time swimming. We headed to the rent's for supper. The kids swam for a bit before heading in for bed.
The Rosbury's spent the night and Micah was a little jealous, so it was sweet for him to be able to hear a couple of books before we headed home..... They look so innocent don't they ;)

Creek fun

Our day only began with our trip to the landfill. Afterwards we headed to Paw Paw's for some creek fun. Daph and fam were already there playing. We (Micah and Stacy played for a while)
I held Patton before finally putting him down. He liked it. He truly is a water baby. I don't know what I'd do if he wasn't, but he liked the creek even though it was a little chilly.
The Rosburys had already picked blackberries..... Thinking we may go back next week to pick, but they sure looked pretty.
After lunch we headed on a Gator tour. Stacy had never seen all of the land. We had a nice long ride, Stacy worked a little clearing the paths, we visited the cows, and Patton took a little nap.
Oh yeah I was there too. Here's a sweet pic of P and me :)
