Oh my goodness is all I have to say! It all began on Sunday when Micah begin to get a runny nose. I'm not going to complain at all because he is overall a very well little boy and Rarely Ever gets sick. Thank goodness....anyway he passed his yuckiness to the rest of us. Stacy is fighting a sore throat type cold, and I felt so bad yesterday that I thought I might die (I didn't) I let Micah know that I didn't feel well yesterday and that we would be staying home (not going to take a picture to his "friend" at Wal-Mart) We had an okay morning....as well as a morning can go with me feeling awful and Micah feeling wonderful. You know, some people can just put their kid on the couch in front of the TV and just be lazy....that's Not at all the way it works here. Micah needs to be entertained or he gets into trouble. Anyway, I was SO looking forward to Micah's nap time so that I could take a nap myself. I never take naps, but I thought maybe I'd wake up feeling better. Micah fought sleep and played (made a HUGE mess) in his room for at least 45 minutes before he finally passed out. I did rest my eyes and was feeling a little better when I heard him stirring. I went to get him and this is what I found.....
Micah had found a PERMANENT MARKER that had fallen off of the top shelf of his closet and made some beautiful "art work." You may be wondering why in the world would anyone have a permanent marker in their kid's room to begin with....Well I have had this one in Micah's room since his first Christmas. His Wonderful "Aunt D" made him the coolest ever growth chart, and that's how we keep track of it. Just the other day, I was looking for the marker to chart his growth, and I couldn't find it. I moved it from his top dresser drawer to the top of his closet because now he can stand on his bed and open dresser drawers. I thought I was being very smart. Last week he asked to play with a toy that was on the shelf in his closet....I guess the marker fell when I got the toy down! When I opened the door yesterday Micah said "Here it is" He knew I had been looking for it.... But all I could say was "You've ruined it all." I didn't know what to do....So I called Daphne who knows the answers to most of my child raising questions (Mama was working) I cried. Daphne told me to use the Magic Eraser and rubbing alcohol. I didn't get a picture of this....and the ones that I do have are that great, but He drew ALL over his furniture, his walls, door, and 1/4 of his toys, his body, his clothes, and oh yeah and the carpet too!! The walls were the least of my worries, we can always paint them. I was most worried about his dresser....All I have to say is Thank you Mr. Clean! The toys are as good as their going to be for now. His clothes will become play clothes, his room will be repainted, but the carpet is a work still in progress. I used alcohol so much in that room that I could feel my brain cells dying. The marker is still on the carpet, but it's a lot lighter. I'll try nail polish remover when he wakes up today so that his room will have time to air out before bed time. Anyone have any other ideas that might work? I think that Micah will have a wood floor in his room in our next house!
I am so ready to put Micah into a Real Big Boy Bed. I just feel like he, at 2 1/2 is a little big for a toddler bed...Maybe it's just me. We were very smart though and bought the whole convertable crib thing. Thinking back, I should have skipped the whole toddler bed rail and just made his crib straight into a Full size bed, but it only cost us $60...so it's not that bad. Well now some big decisions need to be made. What kind of mattress (mattresses are expensive!) And what kind of bedding (the most important) I know that Micah won't be picky at all! I know that I want him to have a quilt and not a comforter....I know that I want it to have blue in it. (We missed having the whole blue thing because Micah has a Georgia Bulldog room) I love his room now, but I'm ready for a change. If we had unlimited funds he would have a Pottery Barn Kids room from ceiling to floor (I just Love their stuff....but it's just SO expensive) Therefore we either settle for just having the bedding (which is expensive too) or but something similar. I just want it to last. I don't want it to be cheaply made, and I want him to be able to grow with it. I don't want to HAVE to change his whole room in 3 years because he's now 5. So should I spend the money and buy something that I know will last and that I Really likeOr should I just settle for this less expensive one that will do the job? Any opinions will be very helpful!!
All of us Robinsons had a wonderful Valentine's Day this year. I'm aware that Valentine's Day is mostly just one of those Halmark Holidays, but if it's an excuse to give presents, go out to eat, and eat WAY TOO much....I'm in! Stacy had to work Saturday morning, so Micah and I played, baked and made the dreaded Wal-Mart trip.
When K B toys went out of business a couple of months ago, we stocked up on toys. I was able to use one as his "Christmas- Valentine presents." (As he called it) He LOVES trains and train tracks, so I gave him something to go along with his Thomas train set. He was so excited. He also is into stickers and lots of the time wants to play with my more expensive scrapping stickers, so I bought him several packs of cheap boy stickers. They kept him busy for a good bit of the morning.
Micah is at a strange stage in his life....I just wanted to take a normal picture of him for Valentines day and this is what I got.....
This year I had a very hard time deciding what to get Stacy....So I gave him several things. He got the new John Grisham book, Fireproof DVD, some cookies, and some giftcards to go out to eat (always helpful.) I got a wireless router!! I am most excited, now I am able to roam around the house with my computer and always have signal! YAY!!
I am most thankful that the McBryars don't celebrate Valentines Day because my dear sweet sister Laura called and offered to watch Micah until Mama finished working for the day. Any little bit of time was helpful. We dropped Micah at the Rent's with Nut at 4:20 made it to The Cheesecake Factory by 5:00....waited (shopped and mall walked) for 90 minutes and then ate the most Delicious food.
I always order the same thing...Crusted Chicken Romano (Yummy) I would not normally choose Cheesecake for a dessert...I prefer chocolate, but Who in the World would pass up a tasty morsel of goodness known as Snickers Cheesecake....Not I! It was yummy and delicious, and I'm already counting down the days until I can partake in such yumminess again :)
Oh yeah, I almost forgot....I am also now the driver of a van!! I never thought in a million years that I would have a van as my vehicle, but if the price is right, and you're making sure that your husband's truck stays running until it's paid off in 14 months....then no complaints! Thank you to Mama and Daddy for thinking of the Robinson's!! Here she is.....She'll need a new name though....any ideas?

Stacy, Micah, Laura, Jerms, and I attended the 3rd annual Taste of Dacula on Monday night. Daddy, my date since the first Taste wasn't able to attend this year due to work :( Anyway, I know that I always think that $10 is a lot to pay to walk around tasting food, but every year it is SO worth it. This year there were 36 food vendors. I ate more food on Monday night than I needed to eat for two whole days. I was STUFFED! Anyway, Daddy asked me to take notes on what was yummy....so since I haven't blogged in a while, I thought I would share with all.Best soup- The Field House (it was some kind of cheesey soup...I can't remember the name)Best Ice cream- Ben and Jerry's (chocolate/ vanilla swirl with nuts) (too bad Scoops didn't have any Ice cream there! They're my all time favorite!!)Best Mexican and my favorite of the night- Tie between Fernando's and Del Rio (they have the same owners, just different names...YUMMY)Best Italian- Luigi'sBest Chinese- Rice StationBest BBQ- Tim's Rib JointBest Cake- World's Delights and coffeeBest Wings- there were a lot to choose from but Digger's spicy ranch were delicious!Needless to say that I've been Slimfasting since Monday :)
