Strawberry Picking, Finger Licking

After weeks and weeks of everyone other than us going to the strawberry patch, I decided that we'd go. We went last week and the weather was Perfect! Although we've talked about going in the past, we never have gone. Micah does not care for strawberries at all. Patton, on the other hand LOVES them. Micah was super excited about picking strawberries and even more happy about the thought of "skipping nap." Stacy had a short day so we picked Micah up from school, went out to lunch, then we headed to the Strawberry patch. There were only a couple of other people there picking and that was great! I was worried that there would be little or no berries left, Boy was I Wrong. There were a ton!

Micah chose the row, and off we went!
Patton learned how to pick.

Then he learned that he could eat them!

Double fisting the strawberries!

Stacy found all kinds of neat ones!

After a quick break, and some pictures of P's messy face, we headed home. $10 worth of strawberries and skipped nap. Everyone was happy :)

Graduation (Tear)

Although we still have a couple of weeks left of school, last night was Micah's end of year program/ graduation. We were a little rushed to make it in time, Stacy has been in Alabama this week and barely made it home from picking up his truck from the shop, before running out the door again. Throughout the day I must have heard "Mama, you will be so proud when......" a million times. Micah was SO excited about the program he could hardly stand it. It is probably a surprise that Micah loves to be the center of attention  ;) So this was right up his alley. I put Stacy in charge of finding us good seats while I took Micah to the back to get dressed in his cap and gown. I snapped this sweet picture as soon as Eli and Micah were dressed and ready to go.

I headed to our seat and was able to chat with Heather for a while before the program began. Here are future Child's World students learning how it's done:)
Ready or not, here they come..... Yep, that's Micah waving BIG to hi fan club. Man, he cracks me up! He seems a lot like a politician to me :)

Here is sweet Eli. He had the Best part of the program. He got to say the Lord's Prayer. He did awesome. I'm always surprised at how brave the children are!

And here's Micah and his continent group.

Being announced and walking across the stage.

The whole graduating class (Tear)

Micah with Ms. Mason (Love her)

And oh, how sweet.  Nicco has been one of Micah's besties since Ms. Scott's 3 year old class..... Oh sweet memories. Look at these little guys (Tear)

Here they are are all grown up. Man we're really going to miss this guy and his sweet family!
Eli, Eli, Eli. He has got to be one of the best friends for Micah to have. He is so kind. He is one of the most caring boys I've ever met, he is simply sweet. Micah needs friends like Eli. Oh sweet Eli. He gave Micah a back pack after the program. He chose the wrapping and the card and everything. Micah was super excited, he left the bag on his bag all night. What in the world are we going to do without Eli:(

Here are the 3 friends all together. So sweet! (Look at silly Halle peeking in the background)

And the rest are pictures of Micah with his fan club. We had a great night!

Teacher Appreciation Week

I LOVED when it was Teacher Appreciation week when I worked at the Fort. It made me feel special when kids would bring me sweet cards or flowers. Being that I LOVE all of the teachers at Micah's school I always keep them in mind dring this week too. Pinterest has helped me broaden my gift giving ideas. Monday I got them little tins filled with Hershey's hugs and kisses with a tag that said "Teacher can't live on apples alone, they need hugs and kisses too. " Tuesday it was some strawberry candles and soap "I'm so 'berry' glad you're my teacher." Today I gave a jar of Smarties with a marker on top "Thank you for making me a 'Smartie' and a 'Sharpie." I'm not sure what she'll do with it but I really liked this saying, so this is Ms. Mason's gift for tomorrow.... It's still not completely finished.... I better get to work :)
I'll do either breakfast or lunch for them on Friday. Man, have I mentioned how much I'll miss these ladies?

Weekend

Well, of course our weekend consisted of moonwalks, because that's what we do best. On Saturday between moonwalks we house hunted. Oh I found one that is great! Just a tad more than we'd like to pay, but close to the area we've looked before. It was pretty new, and already had an in ground pool and hottub..... Nice. On Sunday, we got to attend the birthday party of an old friend of mine's little girl. We've been friends since the 5th grade, but lost touch after high school. Found each other on myspace, and have kept up with one another through Facebook. She lives in Maysville and wants us to move to the county SO bad. She only mentioned it several times on Sunday;) I'd LOVE to be her neighbor! She super sweet, but I compare her to Dr. Phil, because she tells it like it is. She cracks me up! We headed North after lunch, but got there a whole lot quicker than I thought we'd get there, so we decided to go to the park for a while to waste time. We had a BLAST! Boys, water, sun, all was good!

We hung out for a while before heading to celebrate sweet Maggie.  We don't feed Patton a lot of sweets, so he was in Heaven when he got to have a cupcake. He LOVED every single bite..... of the icing:)

We ended up spending most of the day with sweet Ashley and her family. Before we knew it, it was supper time. We all headed over to Commerce for Mexican. Although I am supposed to know Ashley's husband from school, I just don't remember him, but Stacy does. He went to school with Kevin too. Kevin's grandmother was even Stacy's teacher one year! During dinner we were talking about some of my family that lives in Maysville. Come to find out, not only do they know each other, they used to live down the road from one of my cousins! And not only do they know my family, come to find out, Kevin's great aunt, married my great uncle! CRAZY huh? Ashley and I were super excited to find out that we're cousins by marriage!

Love

I think sometimes it's easier to love someone than to like them. Micah has had an ear infection this week. The liking part has been hard. (Micah's symptoms for an ear infection are Extra wildness, he doesn't obey, he talks back....) To quote his teacher "He's been impulsive." It's been chilly. I think I have an ear infection, I've been in pain :( It's been a rough week. Through all of this, I'm thankful for the people who love my Micah. I am thankful for the best school in the world, and thankful that Micah does well there, and that they Love him. I am thankful for the Best Mama in the world. She called on Monday just to ask if she could have Micah for the afternoon. It was a calmer afternoon.... Only Patton decided that he didn't need a nap :( I am thankful for Micah's outgoing attitude. I am thankful for the Love that Micah and Patton share. It's sweet. There are a lot of things that I am thankful for, but today it's the sweetest worker at Firehouse Subs. We usually end up there on Sunday nights, not only is it one of Stacy's favorites, but Kids eat FREE, and that matters when you're having to feed 2 kids! For several months this particular girl (I've talked about her before) was extra nice to Micah. She Loves him and tells him EVERY week. She tells him that he's the most handsome boy and that she Loves his cheeks. She gets really excited when she sees him. It makes my heart happy to have someone Truly Love my son. Recently she has begun letting him help her. It started with him helping refill the coke free style machine (only the best machine ever invented) Last week he got to help hang signs on the door, and clean the trashcans. He was super excited, she truly has no clue how happy he was to help her. It makes me happy to see Micah happy. No matter how difficult, I sure do love that boy!

Field Trip

Last week Micah's class got to go on a field trip to Fire Station #14. They are the only fire department in Gwinnett county with a rescue boat. I was not planning on going until the day before. I never want to be the only mother not involved, but I also know that sometimes Micah behaves better when I'm not around. Stacy had the day off, so he came too. As soon as we pulled in and got out, one of the trucks had to leave on a call.

First we went inside to watch a video. And then the chief talked to us, dressed up, and asked all sorts of questions. Micah was on top of things. His hand was constantly in the air, and he even volunteered to demonstrate STOP, DROP, and ROLL.

After we took a tour of the inside of the station, we took a walk outside to admire all of the trucks, engines, and of course the boat.

I learned a lot during the trip and even asked a few questions myself. The little boys played while the big kids learned;)

After the trip was over we had lunch at Pizza Hut with Micah's friends Hudson, Eli, and Nicco. Micah has wanted to be a fireman for a long time.... So he Loved this trip! He was on cloud nine:)
